Can EarnThatBuck Really Make You Money?

Making money with EarnThatBuck is fairly simple in theory. As I suggested you simply make posts, and contribute to the community as as you gain views you earn money. According to the FAQ in the Get Paid to Post on EarnThatBuck thread you can earn $5 for every 1000 qualified entrances to your content. You must reach a minimum of 200 entrances to qualify for a payout, and they pay every month. 

Naturally the question is what is a qualified entrance. EarnThatBuck is a little mysterious when it comes to answering this question, which makes sense as the calculation method could lead to gaming the system. But in their own words, “basically if your thread ranks high in Google, you’ll get paid more”. So think of it in terms of earning them revenue in order to get paid yourself. Higher ranks on google equals more clicks and website traffic which equals more revenue potential.

In terms of how much you can earn, the creator explains;

Q: If $5 CPM good?
A: $5 CPM means it only takes 200 qualified entrances to earn $1. This makes it worth your time to write great threads. If it takes you 30 minutes to write a great thread, and it gets 4,000 entrances over the course of a year, that means you earned $20 for that one thread, and $40 per hour from just one year of revenue. Survey sites can’t beat that!

As a result of this payout being residual, your writing increases your income rather than just earning you cash. Spend 100 hours writing articles, and you effectively give yourself a raise.

All that being said, as I (the owner) get better at monetizing this website the $5 CPM rate will theoretically increase.

So the maths is appealing, but the reality (at this point) is a little less appealing. When we look at the earnings leaderboard you can see the top earner has received a little over $3 in the last month.

You will not make a lot of money with EarnThatBuck but does that mean its not worth it? Well I guess it depends on your goals. EarnThatBuck could be a long term play. The creator has committed to increasing traffic, and SEO which means more visitors, higher rankings for your posts and more rewards. If you created some highly targeted well written content, as the website gains traction your early work could benefit. Joining the community before everyone else could have its benefits! But just like SEO and websites it will take a lot of time (months and months) you wont be earning $100s a month just by creating a few new threads.

How Do You Redeem Your Earnings?

When you first create your profile with EarnThatBuck they ask for your paypal email, which is where you will be paid.  As I suggested before they pay monthly on the performance your posts and threads received in the prior month.

I cannot see or find any other process for getting paid, there doesnt appear to be a “cash out” feature that I can see. So I believe payments are automatically process monthly which is great as you do not have to do anything to get paid once your have your amazing content and posts written!

EarnThatBuck The Verdict! Scam or Legit?

EarnThatBuck is definitely not a scam. I believe it is a forum in its infancy, bringing together a community of online entrepreneurs who all want to make money online. So when considering a recommendation for the site, there are actually two things to consider here.

• How much can you earn with the rewards offered – is it worth it.
• Is there value in the content?

As I described in the previous section currently your ability to make money with EarnThatBuck is fairly low, less that $5 a month. However the new ownsership with the site could bring a new lease of life on the websites traffic. Better SEO and a more focused approach to drive traffic and gain new members would lead to generating more revenue for you. Writing a few well thought and high value posts at this stage may not make much, but if the site gains traction, your views will raise and the engagement from the community will increase. This in turn snowballs your thread making it more visible, getting more viewers which equals more revenue. So in short, not a lot of money right now, but perhaps worthwhile putting starting some high value posts and playing the waiting game!

Secondly their is the content – is there any value in the threads for your ability to make money online. With these type of communities and forums you need to take the good with the bad. There will be those opportunistic members who purely post to try and direct you into their affiliate programs so they make money. Quora has become plagued with this and the moderates are constantly block and delete threads and comments of anyone posting to external affiliate links. But those threads that are written to genuinely help the community to hold some value. And they will gain more engagement, so naturally be easier to find! 

With that in mind, my recommendation for EarnThatBuck is to give it a try if you like. It won’t make you $1000s not even $100s. But it could give you some good insights for making money online, and if it gains traction you may make more money in the future.

These type of programs are just for “pocket money” or “play money” not life changing money making opportunities. To make a full time income you need a business. My number 1 recommendation is for people who want to learn how to build and scale a profitable online business.
